Environmental Skill Set Program

10Are you an arborist with an interest in environmental arboriculture?

Join our Environmental Skill Set Program and learn a range of techniques that will enhance your skills and make a positive impact on the environment.

Our comprehensive skill set includes the following units:

Manage trees to create and maintain habitat refuges (AHCARB325)
Develop the skills and knowledge required to create and maintain habitat refuges in trees involving the installation of nesting boxes and the use of pruning techniques for habitat hollow and cavity creation in trees. It also involves the retention and positioning of materials from tree works for ground level habitat and refuges.

Prerequisites:
Nil

Recognise fauna (AHCFAU202)
During this subject you’ll observe, recognise and record fauna that are encountered when undertaking agricultural, horticultural, and land management activities.

Prerequisites:
Nil

Carry out inspection of designated area (AHCLPW312)
Develop the skills and knowledge required to carry out an inspection of a designated area.

Prerequisites:
Nil

Maintain wildlife habitat refuges (AHCECR202)
Learn how to maintain wildlife habitats and refuges to protect desirable animal species from invasive species.

Prerequisites:
Nil

What do I get for completing the Environmental Skill Set Program

Interlink Training is currently the only training provider in Australia delivering this course.

Upon successful completion of the Environmental Skill Set Program, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

What can I expect in the Environmental Skill Set Program?

Interlink’s Environmental Skill Set Program is a five-day program. It is held in our fully equipped training rooms and at outdoor environments to give you a balance between the theory and the practice needed to be an environmental arborist.

The course contains a combination of written and practical assessments conducted within realistic, workplace settings and held over the duration of the course.

All Interlink trainers have industry experience as well as relevant qualifications.

Safety is a priority at Interlink so we ask all students to provide the following personal protective equipment:

  • Long sleeve hi-vis shirt and pants
  • Steel capped boots
  • Helmet
  • Gloves
  • Safety glasses

How much does the course cost?

The cost of the Environmental Skill Set Program is $2,000 per person.
