April 9, 2024 By Tanya King

Interlink is proud to announce that our incredible Head Trainer, Sascha Seifritz, was awarded the National 2024 Training & Education Award at the Arboriculture Australia and UAAA gala dinner in Melbourne on Monday 8 April, 2024.

Anyone who knows Sascha knows this award is due recognition for his dedication and commitment to his trainees across the country.

As Sascha stated, “while it is a huge honour to receive, it is important to understand that this award is only possible as a result of the whole Interlink team that works together to provide the highest possible training services to our clients.”

Congratulations Sascha on winning this award. We are extremely thankful, and proud, to have you on the Interlink team.

Interlink Training RTO registration extension

June 29, 2023 By Tom C

As a nationally Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Interlink Training is required to maintain registration with the national regulator, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

After our last extension to registration in 2016, our RTO status was due to end on 29th June 2023. Interlink applied to the regulator for re-registration and we are happy to announce that ASQA have chosen to extend our registration to June 2030!

registration

As part of the registration process, Interlink Training must follow the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015. Compliance with the standards is broad, but in brief covers all areas of running an RTO such as marketing, enrolment, student support and progression, training and assessment, student completion and regulatory compliance and governance practice.

To complete the process of extending our RTO registration, Interlink’s National Quality and Compliance Manager conducted a thorough review on our policies and process to ensure the standards were followed. As part of this assessment, and based on our past excellent performance, ASQA made the uncommon decision of extending our registration without a full external audit.

As well as having a dedicated team to ensure compliance with the standards, Interlink Training also has a continuous improvement policy that takes on feedback from all relevant stakeholders, be it customers, staff, management or the government. To ensure a quality product, our staff complete regular professional development, our trainers maintain industry currency and our training packages are validated by both employers and peak industry bodies.

If you would like to speak with us about how we can exceed your training needs, please contact us.

New ESV website launched today

January 31, 2023 By Tom C

ESV are excited to announce they have launched their new website platform today.

This is the first public milestone in their program to transform their website and make it more accessible for industry and the broader community.

The new platform is more secure and consistent with other Victorian Government websites and provides a better user experience for those accessing the website via mobile and tablet devices.

The URL remains the same (esv.vic.gov.au), as does access to their portals such as ESVConnect and GasTrac. These applications will also be improved as the transformation program progresses.

There’s more to do

The next phase of the website redevelopment involves an upgrade of content to ensure consistency with accessibility standards.

Feedback about the new site

You can provide feedback on each page by indicating whether the information was helpful and leaving a comment.

Tree Climbing Championship Results WA 2022

October 25, 2022 By Tom C

On the 22nd October, ArbWest hosted their annual Tree Climbing Championship.

A great turn out arrived at the Point Walter Reserve to watch the best WA has to offer competing across several events such as Aerial Rescue, Work Climb and Speed Climb.

Arborist Riki Peterson was again recognised as the overall victor after having great success throughout the day. Also on the podium were Pascal Oosterik in 2nd place and Luke Osborne in 3rd. The overall Tree Climbing Championship results can be viewed at ArbWest’s website.

Special mention also goes to competitors Maja Blasch and Molly Hall for demonstrating that females are every bit as successful in this industry.

As an ArbWest Gold Sponsor, Interlink Training identifies the importance of being able to get together as an industry to network and have a bit of healthy competition.

Interlink have also taken the opportunity to introduce the Rising Star award as part of the competition. We were on the lookout for someone who had a positive and enthusiastic approach and attitude to climbing and is keen to learn and grow. The inaugural award went to Trent Bickley of Tree Care WA. Trent embodied everything we were looking for in this award, and it was very well deserved.

The event was a great success and it was entertaining to watch the next generation of tree climbers on the kids climbing wall.

Interlink Training is a proud gold sponsor of ArbWest. As a training provider in the Arboriculture industry, we take great pride in providing support to ensure events like these are successful and can continue. If you are interested in finding out more about our involvement in such events, please contact us online or by calling us on 1300 731 669.

Myrtle Rust Biosecurity Alert

October 6, 2022 By Tom C

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is responding to a detection of myrtle rust in an isolated and remote part of the Kimberley.

Myrtle Rust

Myrtle rust (Austropuccinia psidii) is a fungal disease which infects plants in the Myrtaceae family. Common Australian Myrtaceae species include eucalypts, peppermint trees, turpentine, bottlebrush, paperbark, tea tree and lilly pilly.

It was detected during targeted myrtle rust surveillance led by Queensland Agriculture, Parks and Wildlife Service, Western Australia and DPIRD.

Bushwalkers and travellers are urged to look for and report plants with signs of myrtle rust and take precautions when travelling in and out northern WA to reduce the spread of myrtle rust into other parts of WA.
